Injured Waseca County Deputy Discharged From Burn Unit
Waseca, MN (KROC-AM News) - An area law enforcement officer is expected to spend the weekend at his home for the first time in almost a month.
Waseca County Sheriff’s Deputy Josh Langr was discharged this week from the burn treatment unit at the Hennepin County Medical Center. A CaringBridge website updated by his wife indicates he was expected to stay at an apartment in Minneapolis for a few days for outpatient care before returning home to continue his recovery.
Deputy Langr has been away from his home since he left for work on October 23rd and was badly injured while responding to the scene of a traffic crash that claimed the life of a Waseca teenager. The deputy suffered severe burns when he came into contact with a powerline that was partially downed when the vehicle involved in the fatal crash collided with a utility pole.
A GoFundMe page was established to raise funds to help the deputy and his family with their expenses that are not covered by insurance. At last check, it had brought in over $7,500 toward a goal of $10,000.
