The drug that allowed me to function daily for about a year has been pulled off the shelves of Hy-Vee stores.

According to a press release that Hy-Vee, Inc. posted on their website, they have "temporarily suspended the sale of all over-the-counter Zantac brand and Topcare brand ranitidine products. This action is being taken out of an abundance of caution due to a recent industry-wide product alert from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) that ranitidine products may contain a low level of nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA), a probable human carcinogen."

Individuals with chronic stomach pains, like myself, often find what works best for them, and ranitidine products at the time were what worked for me.  Overall, ranitidine products help relieve heartburn, and I took it every day, multiple times a day, just to be able to eat foods as simple as rice and chicken broth.

Hy-Vee has let their customers know that if they purchased these products, they can return them for a full refund.  You can find the full press release from Hy-Vee here.
