From classic to gourmet, People Magazine sampled hundreds of franks to find the tastiest ones from coast to coast.

Many consider Memorial Day weekend the unofficial start to summer, and with that comes all your favorite food on the grill - including hot dogs! I thoroughly love a good hot dog from time to time, but I have to say I've never been that particularly picky over them either. Just give me a plain ol' frank with ketchup, mustard and some onion and I'm good to go!

However, the good people at People Magazine did their homework recently and traveled all over country to find the best hot dogs in every state and Washington D.C., and according to the article they found the best ones in Minnesota at an unlikely place called Kyatchi in Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Here's what People Magazine had this to say about the establishment:

A Japanese twist on a traditional hot dog, the umami-rich Yakisoba is a Limousin beef frank covered with stir-fried soba noodles, onions, red ginger and Kewpie mayo and served with potato salad.

They also serve up some tasty sushi and were Mpls/St. Pauls Reader's Choice for Best Restaurant 2018!

While I'm more than happy with a beef frank from Costco any day of the week, it might be fun to sample of these gourmet hot dogs up in the Twin Cities sometime on my next road trip up there.
