Gophers Remain In Top 10 In College Football Playoff Rankings
It was a tough loss for the Minnesota Golden Gophers against Iowa this past Saturday, and with the loss, the Gophers fell from #8 to #10 in the College Football Playoff Rankings.
Penn State jumped the Gophers and went to #8 and Ohio State stood still at #2. Iowa rose to #17 with the win and Wisconsin moved up to #12 and Michigan rose to #13 to round out the Big Ten.
Minnesota has everything in front of them to get to the Rose Bowl or even the College Football Playoff. They will have to win-out against Northwestern and Wisconsin and then beat either Ohio State or Penn State in the Big Ten Championship to reach the College Football Playoff.
If Minnesota can win out and beat Northwestern and Wisconsin, then lose to Ohio State in the Big Ten Championship, they would most likely head to the Rose Bowl and take on either Utah or Oregon.
The Gophers still control their own destiny for this season, despite the loss to Iowa.
Minnesota travels to Northwestern on Saturday for an 11 am kickoff, then wraps up the season at TCF Bank Stadium to battle Wisconsin on November 30th with a 2:30 pm kickoff.
