Wabasha, MN (KROC AM News) – High water from the Mississippi River has once again closed the section of Highway 60 that leads into Wabasha - an especially busy road during the Memorial Day weekend.

MnDOT says the closure began Thursday afternoon and it’s not known when the road will reopen.

River flooding has been causing problems in Wabasha since the spring snowmelt.

As of Friday morning, the river level in the Wabasha area was around 14 feet. That’s two feet above flood stage. It is expected to begin a slow fall Saturday but will likely remain above flood through all of next week.
