Additional Information

At 80 feet long, Link Rapid Transit’s seven stations and twelve platforms will have a huge impact on the streetscape along the proposed 2.8-mile route. Five artists have been selected to enhance the design of Link stations and are beginning their work of integrating art into the stations in a way that reflects the community and improves the user experience.
You are invited to two FREE, family-friendly community input sessions highlighting the artists' preliminary concepts. Attendees will be able to better understand the current state of the project, view the artists' presentations, ask questions, and provide input on the designs. There will also be an opportunity for children to provide feedback in a unique way.
The artists are aiming to:
-Capture the heart of Rochester and Minnesota through natural and cultural themes.
-Celebrate community diversity and highlight the neighborhoods connected by Link.
-Create station-focused, functional art that is integral to the design, not just an added element.
-Include community engagement activities to inform the development of the artwork concepts.
Art is envisioned to be an integral part of the station design, not just an added element. Art and artists will represent the past, present, and future of the City of Rochester to celebrate the diverse community, cultures, environment, and seasons that make Rochester a unique and special place with emphasis on the district and neighborhoods that Link will connect.
Your feedback is important and will inform the artists' final phases of conceptual design.
Events are FREE to attend and open to all. Light snacks and beverages will be available while supplies last.
Link Rapid Transit is a proposed 2.8-mile bus rapid transit (BRT) route along 2nd Street SW. Scheduled to begin service in 2026, it will connect downtown Rochester, the Mayo Civic Center, Cascade Lake, Mayo Clinic campuses, and the Rochester-Olmsted Government Center, and will be the first BRT route in Minnesota outside the Twin Cities.
