Are old enough to remember going to a drive-in movie with your parents?  I remember, like it was yesterday.  That HUGE movie screen.  Ice cream from the snack bar.  Playing on the slides and swings before the movie started.  Speaker hanging from your car window provided muffled, scratchy audio.  Curling up in the back seat with a pillow and blanket, falling asleep fifteen minutes into the movie.  It was so much fun!  And we all remember the drive-in movie scene in "Grease", a classic!  My walk down memory lane started when I read an article in a newspaper from "back home" revealing that a drive-in theater in Lockport, New York is adding a fifth screen!

So I took to the Internet looking for drive-in theaters in Minnesota.  While I didn't find one listed for Rochester, there are a few just a road trip away.  Load up the car with the kiddies, blankets, popcorn and soda and enjoy an outdoor movie.  There's nothing like it!

Vali-Hi Drive-In, Lake Elmo.  Concessions include buck hot dogs and guests are treated to three movies shown back-to-back.  Gotta love it!  www.valihi.com.
Long Drive-In, Long Prairie.  Popcorn, nachos, pizza - they serve it all.  "Fright night" scary movie weekends, car shows and more.  www.thelongdrivein.com.
Starlite Drive-In, Litchfield.  They take pride in being one of western Minnesota's premier movie destinations.  Multiple screens showing all the latest movies and family classics.  www.starlitemovies.com.
Verne Drive In, Luverne.  They have tagged their theater as "A Blast From The Past".  Order pizza from the concession stand and they'll deliver right to your vehicle so you don't miss a minute of the movie!  www.vernedrivein.com.
