Elko New Market Man Wins Bassmaster Angler of the Year Award & $100K
Seth Feider of Elko New Market has had plenty of reason to smile this week. He went into this weekend's Bassmaster fishing contest in New York as the points leader for the Angler of the Year award, he had finished 4 times in the top-10 through 9 events this year, and he is doing what he loves, fishing. That smile got a little bit bigger yesterday as Seth was crowned the Angler of the Year with his 5 fish catch that totaled 20 lbs 3 oz to cement his crown.
On top of the angler of the year award from Bassmaster Seth also pocketed $100,000 to go along with the honor.
Seth has been a two-time Bassmaster winner, 4-time classic qualifier, and has had fished in nearly 90 tournaments, was humble in his win, telling Bassmaster.com "It’s a milestone; it’s a (lifetime of) work,” Feider said. “Ever since I was a little kid, every minute fishing was to get to this, it feels amazing. It feels like the weight of the world is off my shoulders now that it’s all over. It’s been a stressful last couple of months.”
Feider's wife Dayton joined him on the podium to celebrate the accomplishment.
After this weekend's tournament in New York, there isn't much rest for Seth, as next week he is scheduled to be in Florida at the ICAST convention, then it's off to a fishing tournament on Lake Minnetonka.
A big congrats to Seth on his Angler of the Year award!
