Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Olmsted County Family Support and Assistance office will be open this weekend because of the ongoing partial federal government shutdown.

A news release says counties have been directed by the State of Minnesota to issue February food benefits through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program early. That prompted the decision to have County staff available to process applications, renewals, and other needed paperwork on Saturday and Sunday from 10 AM to 4:30 PM at the county campus near the federal prison.

The release says all SNAP benefits for the month of February need to be processed by the end of the business day next Tuesday.

The Olmsted County call center will also be open during the same weekend hours at 507-328-6500.
