The short answer is yes, yes we do. In a recent study done by AutoInsurance.Org, a free online resource for anyone interested in learning more about auto insurance, they ranked Minnesota at the number 1 state for drivers, and here's the thing, it wasn't just in 1 category, but multiple categories. MULTIPLE! Take that Wisconsin. Here are the categories, and how the #BoldNorth did to make it number one!

AutoInsurance.org looked at NHTSA data based on fatal crash reports, their experts then looked at over 2,000 data points in order to rank all 50 states and D.C. in five different categories before it crowned the North Star state as the number one state for drivers in 2019. The categories were: careless driving, drunk driving, fatality rate, failure to obey, and speeding. Minnesota ranked in those categories, in order from the list, 7th, 4th, 3rd, 6th, and 5th nationally.

Wait, Paul, I thought you wrote that Minnesota was the state for best drivers but we rank 3rd in fatality rate and 4th in drunk driving that isn't good. You would be right, but in this study the lower the number the better as the study states that "the ten lowest scores belong to the ten areas with the best drivers in our nation."

So who did Minnesota beat out with the top score of 25? In order from 2nd to 5th were Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Washington D.C. and Washington state. You can see the whole study here!

Bonus fact: The most common best-ranking factor for the ten states on this 2019 list was drunk driving, as in don't drink and drive.
