Outside of Cup Foods in Minneapolis was where George Floyd was killed by a Minneapolis police officer on Monday. According to FOX 9, the owner of Cup Foods, Mahmoud Abumayyaleh, said that he has decided to pay for George's funeral because it happened outside of his door and because it happened in his community.

On Monday, George Floyd was at Cup Foods and tried to pay with a fake $20 bill. The clerk noticed pretty quickly that the bill was fake and called 9-1-1. That's when cops showed up and Derek Chauvin knelt on George Floyd's neck.

FOX 9 reports that Mahmoud's nephew actually saw George being choked. He tried to intervene and was pushed away, and told Mahmoud about what was going on. Mahmoud said in response, "'go ahead and call the police on the police.'"

Mahmoud has owned Cup Foods for 31 years. He told FOX 9, "'We’ve been in this community as insider not an outsider.'" He has decided to pay for George Floyd's funeral because it happened outside of his store and also because it's his community that's hurting right now.
