St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - The number of COVID-19 tests performed in Minnesota is now over 150,000, and the number of people who have recovered from the illness now exceeds 10,000.

The Minnesota Department of Health today reported that 699 new COVID-19 cases were identified by the over 7300 tests that were conducted statewide on Saturday. 13 of the new infections were in Olmsted County.

The State Health Department also reported 22 additional coronavirus related deaths, which puts the overall COVID-19 death toll in Minnesota at 722. 19 of the deaths reported Sunday involved residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities.

The daily update on coronavirus activity in the state shows there were slight drops in the number of people currently hospitalized and the number of ICU beds being used by COVID-19 patients. 487 people are currently hospitalized at and 220 one of them are being treated in intensive care units.

The Department of Health report indicates the number of people who have recovered from the illness and no longer require isolation is now up to 10,175.
