Country Music History October 2

Happy Friday!  Did you know that President George Bush was the first President to attend the Country Music Awards ceremony?  President Bush took part in the festivities in 1991.  It was a stellar night for Garth Brooks who won Entertainer of the Year; Music Video for "The Thunder Rolls"; Single for "Friends in Low Places", and album for "No Fences".

The Hollywood Walk of Fame received a new star in 1986 for The Everly Brothers.

And in 1954, Elvis Presley appeared at the Grand Ole Opry, the only time he took the stage at the Opry.  He sang "Blue Moon of Kentucky".
