Jimmie Rogers, the first person inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, died at New York's Taft Hotel of a massive hemorrhage. Rogers had suffered from tuberculosis.
Happy birthday to Hank Williams, Jr., born in 1949 in Shreveport, Louisiana.
