1957  "A White Sport Coat (and a pink carnation)" by Marty Robbins hit #1 on the Billboard country singles chart.  What a terrific song!

2000 Faith Hill reached #1 on the Billboard chart with "The Way You Love Me".

2011  Darius Rucker delivered a commencement speech at Medical University of South Carolina and received an honorary doctorate.
