Country Music History March 4
Some of my favorite singers are highlighted in today's country music history wrap-up. Here we go!
Merle Haggard reached #1 on the Billboard charts for the first time with "The Fugitive" in 1967.
In 1978, "Mammas, Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys" hit #1 on the Billboard charts for Waylon and Willie. They stayed #1 for four weeks.
Loretta Lynn's life story "Coal Miner's Daughter" premiered in Nashville in 1980. Sissy Spacek played Loretta.
And in 1994, Reba received her fifth double-platinum album for "Reba McEntire's Greatest Hits".
