You go girl! In 1952, Kitty Wells becomes the first woman to have a number 1 single on the country Billboard chart with "It Wasn't God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels".
"A Boy Named Sue" by Johnny Cash is #1 on the Billboard chart in 1969. Just a few years later in 1975, the number 1 Billboard country single is "Rhinestone Cowboy" by Glen Campbell. Not to be outdone, in 1980, Eddie Rabbitt is #1 on the Billboard chart with "Drivin' My Life Away".
Trick Pony singer and bass player, Ira Dean, was born in 1969 in North Carolina.
