Taco Bell is reportedly going to open more than 300 new locations around the country, but with a few new twists that may shock their hard-core supporters.

When I think about Taco Bell, it's usually at 2 a.m. at bar close. Or maybe that's how I associate Taco Bell in general, is with hungry drunks? Hey I'm not knocking you, because we've all been there!

Anyway, according to Food & Wine, the future plans of the franchise call for some dramatic changes to the buildings attitude and it's layout. Namely, the loss of a key component that brings in around 55 to 70 percent of their revenue.

I'm talking, of course, of their drive-thru.

That's right, plans have been set in motion that all their new locations will be more “cantina style.” Meaning sans pick-up window.

But before all you fans of "fourth meal" freak out, just know that as they're losing one element of their business, they'll be adding another... because it appears they'll soon be serving alcohol.

So while the loss of drive-thru's could be devastating to the late-night Uber crowd, Taco Bell promises to serve beer, wine, sangria and "Twisted Freezes". So there's that.

You can also breathe a sigh of relief knowing Taco Bell will be zeroing in on bigger cities like Detroit, Pittsburgh, Nashville, and New York first, and even these won't be open until 2022.

The new-and-improved “urban in-line” or “cantina-style” stores will be designed to express the local vibes with artwork, open kitchens, and digital menu boards.

Is this just another step in global domination like in the movie Demolition Man? Time will tell...
