The Grand Meadow Superlarks were in a tough battle with Southeast Conference foe Lanesboro Friday night. Grand Meadow was able to get to the free-throw line and hit some clutch ones to get a 55-52 win in Lanesboro.

The Burros shot the ball tremendously well in the game, seniors Andrew Luck and Carson Switchenberg combined to hit nine 3s and helped the team build an early lead, but the Superlarks were not going to go away quietly.

Late in the second half, Colt Landers was able to get a bucket to go and draw a foul to tie the game at 52, and then Ethan Gilbert was fouled and hit two free throws to give the Superlarks a 54-52 lead. Ethan Lane was sent to the line with 17 seconds to go, and made one to make it a three-point lead and got Grand Meadow a 55-52 win.

The first half saw many lead changes as the team continued to roll offensively, but it was the defense that ended up coming up big for both teams.

Hot scoring was slowed down in the first when Grand Meadow took a 33-25 lead at the break. Lanesboro came firing on all cylinders in the second half and eventually to a 36-34 lead. The teams would be in a close showdown the rest of the way, but a couple of clutch free throws were able to seal the deal for the Superlarks.

It was a fun, back and forth game that ended with the Burros getting a chance at the buzzer to send it to overtime, but it just wasn't meant to be.

The Superlarks advanced to 3-0 with the win, while Lanesboro fell to 1-3 with the loss.
