Caledonia’s Owen King To Play In Minnesota’s High School All-Star Basketball Series
It is an incredible honor for someone to get to play in this game, and yet another area player will get that honor this season in Caledonia's Owen King.
King won the Associated Press Minnesota's Player of the Year in football, along with being a finalist for Mr. Football and Mr. Basketball in Minnesota. He is now adding All-Star Series player to his ever-growing list of honors.
King will play basketball at South Dakota State University next year, but the senior is far from done with making his impact at Caledonia. The Warriors start their hunt for a State Championship tomorrow night vs. Minnewaska Area, the game will be broadcast on 103.1 KFIL, 8pm tipoff.
The honorees were split into four teams, Maroon, Gold, Green and Blue. King will be on the Gold team along with Austin's Duoth Gach and University of Minnesota commit Daniel Oturu, among many other great athletes. You can see the entire rosters from the Minnesota Basketball Coaches Association.
The squads will play two games each. One game will be on Friday, April 6th in St. Cloud, while Saturday the teams will play on the campus of Macalester College in St. Paul. A dunk contest and 3-pt shooting contest will all take place between the games, as well.
Last season, Spring Grove's Chase Grinde made the roster while his dad, Wade, was one of the coaches.
