Owen and Noah King proved to be the difference as the #1 seeded Caledonia Warriors defeated the #4 seeded St. Charles Saints 99-78 in the Section 1AA Sub-Section Final Saturday night.

The Warriors and Saints traded blows back and forth throughout the first half, but in the second half, Noah King started to take over, scoring 16 points in the second half. When Noah wasn't doing the scoring, older brother Owen took over, scoring 18 in the second half to finish with 24.

The Saints struggled to shut down the King brothers, who not only did a great job of scoring but also did a great job of setting teammates up.

Noah King finished with 34, Owen King finished with 24 and Marten Morem with 22.

After being tied at 46 at the break, the Warriors started the second half on a 10-2 run to take control of the game. Caledonia built a lead up to 12, but Swayer Hander hit back-to-back 3's for St. Charles to cut the lead back down to six, 63-57. Then another Saints bucket made it 63-59 and it looked like St. Charles was set to make their push.

Then Owen King went on an 8-0 run of his own to give the Warriors a comfortable lead and the Saints couldn't' recover.

St. Charles struggled to slow down Caledonia, even though they had some great offensive play from Drew Leistikow and Kegan Maloney, who finished with 22 and 24 respectively.

The Saints were in foul trouble early in the game, and that made it easier for the Warriors to attack the rim without much contact coming their way, en route to the victory.

Caledonia will play Byron on Thursday night at 7pm for the Section Championship, while St. Charles ends their impressive season with a 24-5 record.
