The Caledonia Warriors have won three-straight state championships along with 53 straight wins. Now the Warriors are trying to extend both of those streaks Friday afternoon against Barnesville for the Class AA Championship.

The Warriors defense has been their key all season long, along with their stellar play on the offensive and defensive line. Head coach Carl Fruechte has always said that it all starts at the line of scrimmage to establish a strong run game.

Their run game has been strong all year with Nick McCabe, who is one of the finalists for Mr. Football in Minnesota, Jack Beardmore and Noah King have all excelled this season.

With a defense as strong as Caledonia's the key for them is going to be to decipher the misdirection from Barnesville. Nick Detloff, Chase Brenner and Adam Tonsfeldt will carry the load for Barnesville, who comes into the game unranked and took down #2 Minneapolis North in the Semifinals.

The Trojans are the champions of Section 8, come in with a record of 10-2 headed into the finals. They are starting to click offensively and can really get defenses turned around with their misdirection.

It is the next big challenge for the Warriors, but they will be up to the task. The game is scheduled to kickoff at 1 pm Friday at U.S Bank Stadium.
