Samples are back at Costco!

Before you load your kids up in the car and plan on having "lunch" as you go through the aisles, keep reading because you could be extremely disappointed if that is your goal.

We've been without the luxury of Costco samples since the start of COVID-19 (and for good reason!) and for a while, they even took their sheet cakes off the shelves.  Americans were truly excited about the sample news because photos started showing up all over Instagram last week.  As with everything on social media, there are lots of photos and lots of opinions.

I'm loving the pics of the actual samples though, like Samkharper's photo on Instagram.  She showed the world some sort of yummy goody prepackaged sample from the Columbia, SC Harbison Costco store.

The reason why I'm telling you all about this big Costco news is because the samples aren't samples in the traditional sense.  According to Delish.com, if you pick up some free stuff to try, you aren't supposed to actually try them in the store.  It's all pre-packaged and ready for you to take home to enjoy.

It's been a while since we've seen food samples available at Costco warehouses, but it appears that in some locations, the beloved Costco staple is coming back. Of course, given the COVID-19 safety guidelines still in place, the samples don't look the same as they once did and instead feature dry, pre-packaged goods only. - Delish.com

As you can see from johnrpullum's Instagram post, not everyone is agreeing that these free samples should have started again since people are taking a moment and enjoying the goodies in the store, which means that they are also pulling their masks down to make that happen.

Do you think the samples should start or should wait a bit more?  Please, let me know what you think over on my Facebook page - Jessica On The Radio.  I haven't been to Costco in a while so I'm not sure if the Rochester location is seeing those yet, but if you notice that the sample carts are back, please, shoot me a message.
