The University of Minnesota Extension Service and the Minnesota Beef Council will be hosting a virtual Beef Quality Assurance training on December 17, 2020 from 6:30 to 8:00 pm and January 7, 2020 from 6:30 to 8:00 pm. Producers that attend this free workshop will be certified for three years. Most packers and processors require at least one person on the beef farm be certified in Beef Quality Assurance. However, everyone that manages and works with cattle is encouraged to take the training and become certified.

Pre-registration is required as you will not be able to access the Zoom meeting room without receiving the Zoom link and passcode from the University of Minnesota Extension staff. You can pre-register at: z.umn.edu/BQADec2020 for the training on December 17th and z.umn.edu/BQAJan72021 for the training on January 71h. Participants will be asked for registration pass code at the beginning of the training. Only those with a registration code will receive credit for completing the online certification.

If you have questions contact Claire LaCanne at the Rice and Steele County Extension office or Melissa Runck at: mkrunck@umn.edu or you can call 507-822-4728. Remember too that dairymen should be certified too because they are also beef producers!
