Actress Carrie Fisher Has Died at Age 60
News is coming out that Carrie Fisher, who famously played the role of Princess Leia in the Star Wars movies, has died. TMZ is reporting that Fisher passed away on Tuesday morning (December 27), just a few days after suffering a heart attack while on board an airline flight from London to Los Angeles. She had been on a publicity tour to promote her new book, "The Princess Diarist."
Fisher was being treated at UCLA Medical Center and had been in intensive care since arriving there. Earlier reports had suggested that Fisher was in "stable condition" but it now appears that the time she spent not breathing during her heart attack has ultimately led to her death.
Besides starring in the Star Wars movies, Fisher also had roles in several other films, including "The Blues Brothers" and "When Harry Met Sally."
