4 Easy Ways To Attract Orioles In Minnesota Yards

A popular bird that fills our neighborhoods in Minnesota with beautiful songs are in flight and migrating. If you'd love to have these gorgeous, orange birds show up in your backyard this summer, below are 4 tips that will help them find your house.

When do Orioles typically migrate to Minnesota?

According to birdwatchinghq.com, May 10th seems to be a magical date on when you want to make sure that your feeders are out to attract orioles. Obviously, that's not a date that is set in stone because, well, these are animals. We can see patterns but there are a lot of factors on when the birds actually show up in our area.

4 Tips People Use to Attract Orioles

#1 - get an orange bird feeder. We got a wood bird feeder kit and after it was put together, we spray-painted it bright orange, just like the photo below.

#2 - Cut up an orange and put those out in halves or sections. You'll need to replace these every few days though because the birds don't want moldy or dried-up oranges.

#3 - Put out grape jelly. We have a small, glass dish and fill the jelly up every few days.
