It's a well-known fact that March 17 is St. Patrick's Day.  However, even though I'm of Irish descent, I didn't know much about St. Patrick's Day until I did a little research and found these interesting tidbids.  Remember to feast on corned beef, cabbage, Irish soda bread and green beer!

The Gaelic phrase "Erin Go Braugh" translates to "Ireland Forever".

A sheleighly is a type of club and in Irish lore referred to "only the fool stays when the sheleighly is raised".

Don't know where to spend St. Patrick's Day?  Take a road trip to Shamrock Lakes, Indiana; Shamrock, West Virginia or Irishtown, Illinois.  Or you can visit one of sixteen cities in the U.S. named Dublin, the same as Ireland's capital.

Like parades?  St. Patrick's Day offers some of the best.  The St. Patrick's Day parade in New York City has approximately 200,000 marchers and no floats.

There you have it.  No matter your ancestry, everyone is Irish on St. Patrick's Day!
