October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  The statistics are staggering and frightening.  According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, which is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women, and the second leading cause of death among women. It's estimated that each year over 220,000 women in the US will be diagnosed with breast cancer and more than 40,000 will die.  Visit www.makingstrides.org for information on mammograms, breast cancer treatment and research.
