The 4th quarter of a high school football game. The teams have a good idea where they're at and if they'll end up winning, or losing. That's the game. Has to be that way. Well, IS that way, but doesn't have to be that way all the time.

Sometimes there's something more important going on than the game...but, as so often happens in life, a lot of people wouldn't learn how important this kind of thing is without the game. Click play.

This last Friday night, at the Platte-Geddes vs Gregory High School football game, winning or losing was the thing, but in a whole different way. To understand it, you have to go back to October 12, 2017, when Black Panthers senior Brady Sprik, "was seriously injured in a car accident his freshman year."

According to USATODAY,

Sprik was injured almost exactly three years ago, with the accident occurring on Oct. 12, 2017. He sustained serious injuries, including several broken ribs and teeth, and fractured his back in seven places.

His high school football career was cut short, and he sure did miss the game. But Friday night, he was suited up, and back on the field. He carried the ball for a touchdown...and the crowd went wild.

Spik told USA today he was,

“Ecstatic...I was just really happy. It’s been three years since I put pads on and it feels good.”
