Every time the Vikings seem to have their QB situation figured out, it seems as if the knee of their QB just can't hold up.

Sam Bradford has officially been ruled out for Week 3 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and according to Chris Mortensen of ESPN.

This is tough news for Bradford who had a great start to the 2017 season. Mortensen is close to the Bradford camp, so this does not look good.

It has been a rough go for Mike Zimmer in his first stint as a head coach. In his first season, we had the Adrian Peterson suspension, in his second season he won an NFC North Title. The next year he had to deal with injuries to his starting QB and RB in Teddy Bridgewater and Peterson. Now, in 2017, his starting QB goes down with a Week 1 injury.

It is like a cruse that the Vikings just can't get away from. Danute Culpepper looked to be the QB of the future before injures plagued his career. Then after several different journeymen QB's took center stage, Travaris Jackson was asked to take the reigns, and that went horribly.

Brett Favre was a fill in for two seasons, one of which was phenomenal and we will never forget, although we all want too. There were some more journeymen QB's, and then came Christian Ponder, and we all know how that went....

Bridgewater looked to be the saving grace, a high-character quarterback that brought the Vikings a division championship. A scary, unbelievable, non-contact injury put him down. The Vikings made the big move for Sam Bradford and now he is down with an injury and it is looking like he will miss an extended period of time.

That all happened in the span of 15 years. A brutal 15 years for Vikings fans.

They have not sustained success. They have had QB issues for years, and they just can't seem to catch a break. They have drafted well at all other positions, they have been pretty good at signing the correct free agents, but they have never gotten the QB right. This is the NFL, you have to have a good QB to be successful.

The Bradford injury is terrible to hear about, but the Vikings are going to have to do something to give this team a chance. What will it be? I have no idea, but it sounds like Bradford may be out an extended period of time.
