The Lanesboro Burros held on to victory after a couple of clutch buckets from John Prestemon in a 49-46 win over Kingsland Friday night in Lanesboro during the Southeast Conference matchup on FUN 104.3

With Kingsland leading  45-44, Prestemon connected on a corner three to give the Burros a 47-45 lead with just over four minutes to go. Lanesboro was able to lock down defensively and find a way to limit Kingsland's second-chance opportunities.

Trailing by two, the Knights Luke Howard got fouled and went to the free-throw line with just under two minutes to go and connected on one of two chances. With the score at 47-46, Prestemon was sent to the free-throw line and connected on both attempts to give the Burros a 49-46 lead.

Nathan Lund had a chance at the buzzer from the corner to connect on a three for the tie, but it just missed and the Burros were able to hold on to the 49-46 win.

Lanesboro led early in the contest, jumping out to a 16-9 lead, but Kingsland was able to battle back and eventually take a 26-23 lead in the first half behind some strong first-half play from Walker Erdman and Reed Merkel.

The game was tied at 29 at the break, and the Knights took an early lead in the second half and held on to that lead until the there was 5 and a half minutes left in the game, but Lund came right back after the Burros took the lead and connected on a bucket to give Kingsland a 45-44 lead.

Then, Prestemon took over and connected on a huge three to give Lanesboro the lead for good, and eventually, the Burros came away with the 49-46 win.

Sawyer Johnson led the way for Lanesboro with 12 points, while Prestemon added 11. Erdman led Kingsland with 15 while Zach Hauser and Reed Merkel both added eight.
