If you are headed west, you are going to want to make sure to play ahead has the Minnesota Department of transportation will be begin milling and paving work in Hokah starting on Friday, June 9th!

Traffic delays are possible as the machinery moves through Hokah on highway 44 Friday and possibly Saturday.

Road closures were in effect starting June 5th as crews began a resurfacing project in La Crescent on Highway 61. Motorist should expect traffic slowdowns in peak travel times of before and after work. Once this project is done, crews will head south on Highway 16 toward Hokah.

In May, crews were doing ADA work on sidewalks and ramps in Hokah and culvert and storm sewer repairs around La Crescent. Motorists should be attentive and drive with caution in works zone.

Mathy Construction is the prime contractor on this $2.4 million project. Work is scheduled to be completed in mid-July according MNDOT.
