We all know Friday the 13th is one day we all know about.

And not just because it is the start of the weekend. Friday the 13th has always been a day of superstition. If you have ever wanted to know just a little more about how it all started, you came to the right place.

An article on the website timeanddate.com gave me a little insight on what this day is all about. So without any further rambling, here you go.....

If your like me, and wonder why it is such a feared day, your not alone.  In fact, not to many people know why.  The first time Friday the 13th was mentioned was found in the biography of Gioachino Rossini.  He passed away on Friday the 13th.  There are many other reasons as to the start of it, check out the article to see a few more.

Friday the 13th, just like every other thing out there, does have a phobia. Yes that is right.  Friggatriskaidekphobia.  I am just scared to say it.

Another thing the article showed me was the for Friday the 13th to occur, the month has to start on a Sunday.  Almost as bad as starting the month on a Monday.

Little did I know as well, Alfred Hitchcock was born on Friday the 13th.  The name just says suspense and horror movies.

So all that said, there is actually a lot behind the meaning of the day.  If you want to read more into it, check out the article at timeanddate.com.
