Born September 8, 1932 in Winchester, Virginia is the one and only mega-star Patsy Cline.  Patsy was born with the given name Virginia Hensley.  Patsy recorded many, many hits in her short career including the above-mentioned "I Fall To Pieces", "Walking After Midnight", and my favorite, "Crazy".  She entered the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1973.
Great people come from Niagara Falls, New York including songwriter Gary Baker, who was born in 1963.  Baker penned "I Swear", "I'm Already There" and "One Honest Heart" among others.
Looking at the Billboard country singles chart, in 1973 the #1 song was Conway Twitty and "You've Never Been This Far Before".  Alabama held the spot in 1990 with "Jukebox In My Mind", and in 2007, "These Are My People" by Rodney  Atkins.
