Country Music History September 2
A long-time Labor Day weekend tradition, The Jerry Lewis Telethon for muscular dystrophy. In 1973, Lewis was joined on the telethon by a host of country stars including Conway Twitty, Minnie Pearl, Sonny James and Johnny Cash.
"Blue Skies" by Willie Nelson is #1 on the Billboard country chart in 1978. I've heard this rendition of Irving Berlin's song and it's amazing.
"Big Green Tractor" earned a gold single for Jason Aldean in 2009.
And in 2012, Trace Adkins provided voice overs for a TV ad for Firestone tires.
Have a great weekend, friends!
