Country Music History September 12

Today marks the anniversary of a sad date in country music history.  On September 12, 2003, the music world lost the great Johnny Cash.  Johnny passed away at Nashville's Baptist Hospital. His wife, June Carter Cash, died just four months earlier.

On a lighter note, birthdays today include George Jones, born in 1931 in Saratoga, Texas.  Miss Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland was born in Georgia in 1974.

In 1990, Alan Jackson achieved gold album status for "Here In The Real World".
