It's a somber day in America's history; let's try to lighten the mood a bit with some country music history.
Lady Antebellum co-founder, Charles Kelley, was born September 11, 1981 in Savannah, Georgia.
Country queen Barbara Mandrell was involved in an auto accident in Hendersonville,  Tennessee in 1984 sustaining serious injuries; the other driver was killed in the accident.

In 1989, Hank Williams, Jr.'s "All My Rowdy Friends Are Here On Monday Night" made its debut as ABC's Monday Night Football's theme.  Giants beat Redskins 27-24.

Looking at the Billboard country singles chart, in 1982 "She Got The Goldmine (I Got The Shaft) was #1 in 1982 for Jerry Reed.  "Single White Female" by Chely Wright was #1 in 1999; and in 2004 "Girls Lie Too" by Terri Clark.
