In 1933, Jimmie Rodgers, who was considered by many to be country music's first superstar, died of a massive hemorrhage in a New York hotel.  Rodgers had suffered from tuberculosis for many years.  In 1961, he was the first person inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.  Jimmie was probably best known for his song "Honeycomb".

Looking at the Billboard chart, in 1973 we find Jeanne Pruett and "Satin Sheets" in the #1 position.  "Good Directions" by Billy Currington was #1 in 2007.  Did you know that "Good Directions" was written by Luke Bryan?
