In 1937 in San Benito, Texas, Baldemar Huerta was born.  You know him better as Freddy Fender, singer of "Wasted Days and Wasted Nights" and "Before The Next Teardrop Falls".  Fender has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

"Steers and Strips" album by Brooks and Dunn earns gold status in 2001.  Gold and platinum status ware awarded to Kenny Chesney and "No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems" in 2002.

And in 2015, "Pop A Top" singer Jim Ed Brown received a Country Music Hall of Fame medallion while he is being treated for cancer at Williamson Medical Center in Franklin, Tennessee.
