Greetings, country music fans!  Here is your Saturday edition of Country Music History.

"Riding With Private Malone" singer David Ball was born July 9, 1953 in Rock Hill, South Carolina.  Ball also had a hit with "Thinkin' Problem" in 1994.

In 1991, Roy Acuff was a recipient of the National Medal of Arts during a ceremony at the White House hosted by President George Bush.  What an honor for Mr. Acuff.

Unbeknownst to her band mates, singer Cheyenne Kimball quit the group Gloriana through a Twitter message following a concert in Union, Missouri in 2011.
