"Ode To Billie Joe" won three Grammy awards in 1968 including Best New Artist for singer Bobbie Gentry.  Miss Gentry was born July 27, 1944 with the given name Roberta Streeter in Chickasaw, Mississippi.  Another of Gentry's songs, "Fancy" became a huge hit for Reba McEntire.

Sawyer Brown guitarist, Duncan Cameron, was born in Utica, New York in 1956.

Johnny Cash recorded so many mega hits that it's hard to name one as his signature song.  However, I believe "Ring of Fire" would be in the running for that title.  The song was #1 on the Billboard country charts in 1963.  In 1991, the #1 song was Ricky Van Shelton's "I Am A Simple Man".  And in 2002, it was Kenny Chesney and "The Good Stuff".
