Country Music History February 2

Don't you just love the song "Redneck Girl" by the Bellamy Brothers?  It's one of those classic that you recognize instantly and can't help singing to.  One of the Bellamy brothers, Howard, was born February 2, 1946 in Darby, Florida.  The brothers had many hits throughout their career including "Old Hippie" and "Let Your Love Flow".

Looking at the Billboard country singles charts:  "Letter To Me" by Brad Paisley is #1 in 2008; and Steve Holy's "Good Morning Beautiful" holds the #1 spot in 2002.  Back in 1974, the anthem for any woman that's ever been cheated on, "Jolene" by Dolly Parton is #1 on the Billboard chart.

In 1993, Willie Nelson and the IRS reached a compromise when Nelson agrees to pay nine million dollars of the 16.7 million that he owed the IRS.
