One of the greatest songs ever, in my opinion, "Behind Closed Doors" by Charlie Rich held the #1 spot on the Billboard country singles chart in 1973.  In 2001, that spot was taken by Brooks and Dunn with "Ain't Nothing 'Bout You".

Rascal Flatts took the Grand Ole Opry stage for the first time in 2000.

How fun is this?  In 2003, Reba McEntire joined other "squares" Kermit The Frog, Henry Winkler and John Ritter on the game show "Hollywood Squares".  Wonder who the center square was?

And in 2009 "She's Country" by Jason Aldean earns gold single status.
