Country Music History April 23

Not too much to report today but I found this interesting.  In 1956 Elvis Presley performed for his first time in Las Vegas at the New Frontier Hotel.  He was scheduled to perform for four weeks, but audience reaction to his show was so bad that they cancelled the remainder of the shows after two weeks.

Tiffany Fallon and Joe Don Rooney of Rascal Flatts were married April 23, 2006 in Mexico.

And in 2015 the George Jones Museum opened in Nashville.  Performers attending the grand opening were Dierks Bentley, Lorrie Morgan and Lee Greenwood.
