Country Music History April 14

Happy Thursday - the countdown to the weekend begins!

Happy birthday to Miss Loretta Lynn who was born April 14, 1932 in Butcher Holler, Kentucky.  Miss Lynn joined the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1988.  In 1972, she was the first woman to win the Country Music Association's Entertainer of the Year.

Speaking of awards, in 1986 Alabama won the ACM Entertainer of the Year award; setting a record for five straight Entertainer of the Year Awards.

In 2008, "Can You Duet" premiered on CMT network.  Contestants included Joey+Rory.

And finally in 2012, Dave Haywood of Lady Antebellum married his sweetheart Kelli Cashiola in Tennessee.
