Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher ‘Let God Handle’ Timing of Pregnancy
Carrie Underwood and her husband, Mike Fisher, keep their faith at the center of their lives together, even when it comes to family planning.
The singer tells Nashville's Tennessean newspaper that the couple did not plan her pregnancy, preferring to "just let God handle" when that would happen. They announced the pregnancy via social media in November, and Brad Paisley "accidentally" revealed that they are expecting a boy during the CMA Awards in November.
Underwood -- who released her first hits collection, 'Greatest Hits: Decade #1,' on Tuesday (Dec. 9) -- says she's been thinking about how having a baby will affect her career, "like anyone would be in the situation." But she's not concerned; she's already spoken to a tour bus company about building a custom-made bus specifically designed to accommodate her family, and she says she and Fisher "will make it work."
The 'Something in the Water' singer says once her son gets older, "things will have to settle down as far as school and all of that," because she and Fisher are determined to provide their boy as normal a childhood as possible.
The baby is due early in 2015, and the excited couple are already anticipating their new arrival.
"We can't wait to meet the little guy," Underwood says. "I was talking to Mike the other night and I was like, 'Do you love our baby?', and he was like, 'Of course.' And I said, 'Isn't it weird to think that you can love somebody you've never met?' The date is coming up … and it's a whole new chapter."
