St. Paul, MN (KROC AM News) - There have been two more fatalities on Minnesota Roadways after crashes Carver and Hennepin Counties.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the first fatality was in Carver County on Highway 212 just west of Jonathan Carver Parkway around 10 a.m. Wednesday.

A Chevrolet Silverado, driven by 73-year-old Bonnielee Pope of Young America, Minnesota, was stationary on the right shoulder facing westbound on the Highway, and when the Chevrolet attempted to make a U-turn to go back east on the Highway and was unaware of the semi-truck approaching. The semi truck t-boned the Chevrolet, killing Pope.

The driver of the semi-truck, 43-year-old Trevor Hogan of South St. Paul, had minor injuries.

The other fatal crash happened in Maple Grove on westbound Highway 610 around 3:30 a.m. this morning when a Ford Taurus, driven by a 19-year-old man from Dayton Minnesota, was traveling west on the Highway and struck the bridge abutment on the east side of the bridge at Hemlock Ln and the vehicle burst into flames, killing the 19-year-old man. His identity has not yet been released.
