State Tournament

The Cathedral softball team will be making their 4th state tournament appearance in school history when they play Wednesday in North Mankato against defending Class AA Champion Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton at 3 p.m.

That can only mean when the boy's state basketball tournament rolls around we get blasted by another round of snow. Well, that would be correct in a typical winter here in Minnesota.

The Albany girls basketball team defeated Rochester Lourdes 58-41 Wednesday night at Maturi Pavilion on the University of Minnesota campus in the Class 2-A State Tournament quarterfinals.

This isn't anything new, students getting rowdy at the Minnesota State Hockey tournament seems to happen each year

The Spring Grove Lions had a difficult road against some of the best teams in the state. The Lions topped Nevis 32-0

It was no easy task to get there either, as they may have had the most difficult road to the State Tournament than any other team in the state, regardless of class size.

A game for the ages Friday night at the Rochester Regional Sports Stadium as the Spring Grove Lions went 93 yards with four minutes remaining and added a two-point conversion to get the win 36-35 over the Cleveland Clippers
