Good news out of this though, the number of children who are at risk of getting lunch shamed is going down

Across the state people were up in arms about a lunch policy at Stewartville Public Schools that led to shaming students, and last night the school board made their decision.

The Minnesota Education Commissioner did not specifically name the Stewartville School District, but Brenda Cassellius issued a statement today that is highly critical of school districts that have adopted policies that result in the dumping of the meal trays of students with unpaid account balances.

Many kids in the country depend on their school lunches to keep them from going hungry. As summer is here, many of those kids will not have that school lunch there for them. Well, thanks to the help of NO KID HUNGRY, children in Southeast Minnesota don't have to worry about that...
