New Artwork In Rochester Is What Our Country Needs More Of In 2020
More of this.
...less hate
...less bullying
...less arguing
...less animosity
...less selfishness
If you haven't had a chance to see this amazing piece of art yet in Rochester, take a drive and go. It's on Broadway, across the street from Limb Lab, and if you are going at night, I promise you won't be able to miss it.
When I saw this the first time, it was during the day and as you can see from the photo below, it really is pretty simple. It appears to only be white letters. Well, really BIG white letters. I posted that photo on my Instagram and Facebook page and got a note that said I should take a look at this at night. So, I did what every mom does. I loaded up the kids, drove down Broadway, handed one of my kids my phone and told them to get ready to take a picture.
"Together". What does that mean to you? For me, it really almost brought me to tears because we have so much happening in 2020 and unfortunately, this is a year when we have had more split among people than I've ever seen before. I know families who no longer speak to one another due to differing opinions about the election. I know individuals who refuse to acknowledge that a person died in Minneapolis and continue to bring up arguments instead stating George Floyd was a criminal. People who are adamant that their rights are being taken away and would rather walk proudly through stores without masks on instead of showing compassion to other humans of this world.
"Together". As we look forward to starting a new year soon, a fresh start in 2021, it's just my suggestion but I think this word should be our goal.
Do you know who created this art? I've been trying to find out who created this and haven't found out that answer yet. So, if you know, please send me a message to my Facebook page - Jessica On The Radio - or on Instagram. And whoever you are...thank you.
